I'll stamp all over 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
